Bharatanatyam

I began my classical dance journey under the guidance of my mother and Guru Smt. Subha Rajeev at the age of 4. While I started off learning Bharatanatyam, I also ventured into semi-classical and Bollywood dance. It was experimenting with these dance forms that led me to appreciate the close relationships dance can build. No matter where I go, I know that I will have a family in dance.

After we moved to Texas in 2016, I joined Ellora Center for Performing Arts under Guru Smt. Vani Iswara. I have performed solo and group performances at recitals and cultural festivals in and around Dallas, Texas and New Jersey. I participated in my guru’s Pibare Rama Rasam production and placed in the Saptami Foundation Nationals Competition in 2020.

Dance taught me not just how to perform – I cultivated perseverance and confidence while developing life-long friendships. Bharatanatyam is an enormous part of my identity, a passion I know will never get dulled by time.
